Tom & Marie,
Congratulations to Bishop Barnett-way to go! We have said numerous prayers
for you and the church in Sierra Leone over the past few years. I was
deeply saddened to read the article in the Lutheran a couple of years ago
about the tragedy and struggle happening there. I am glad to hear that you
survived and are continuing to serve as a clergy couple. I am also a part
of a clergy couple (I married a Detroit pastor after leaving Wartburg) and
we now have a 4-year-old boy, Samuel and 2-year-old girl, Kendra. I will be
praying for you and the church in Sierra Leone as you prepare for the big
day on Nov. 30-what a great day for an installation service-the first day of
a new church year!
