Do you have questions about how SKYWARN works in our area?
- Why isn't a wide-area repeater used for our local SKYWARN nets?
- Why can't I just give storm reports directly to Central Indiana
SKYWARN on the linked repeater system?
- What determines when a SKYWARN net should be started? Ended?
- Who controls the warning sirens?
- Why can't everyone monitoring the net talk about the weather
conditions at their location?
If you have questions like these and want to learn more about how SKYWARN
works, then we invite you to attend this month's ARES meeting this coming
Thursday evening at 7pm at SIA. We will be discussing SKYWARN and preparing
ourselves for storm season.
If you're not an ARES member, we want to encourage you to visit us for this
important topic that concerns us all. You will need to register as a guest
to get access to the SIA facility. Please do so no later than Wednesday
morning at www.w9tca.com/meetings. Just click on the link in the yellow
highlighted section to fill out the guest registration form.
We hope you'll be able to join us at 7:00 p.m. this Thursday at SIA. Thanks.
