<div dir="ltr"><div>This coming Thursday, March 19, is the annual statewide tornado test conducted by the National Weather Service. Like usual, there will be two tests - one in the morning and one in the evening. In addition, TEMA will be testing the warning sirens and has asked for our help in reporting their status. A few sirens have been added to the list of those checked by amateur radio.</div><div><br></div><div>The morning test will be initiated at 10:15 a.m. ARES will conduct a net at that time to take check-ins and any siren reports. We understand that many of you will be at work and not able to participate in the morning session. Those of you who are available, please check in and give reports on any sirens you are able to verify. There will not be an advanced sign-up for the morning siren test.</div><div><br></div><div>For the evening test, a net should be started at about 19:15, similar to the monthly warning siren test net that happens on the first Saturday of the month. Siren locations will be recorded ahead of time and verified, with the statewide tornado test (and sounding of the sirens) expected to happen at 19:35.</div><div><br></div><div>IMPORTANT: If you plan to report a siren during the Thursday EVENING test, please sign up ASAP on the <a href="http://www.W9TCA.com">www.W9TCA.com</a> web site. We will be treating this in similar fashion to the monthly siren test. We are going to try and coordinate with TEMA on which sirens the hams will be reporting, so they can assign their personnel elsewhere and duplication of effort can be minimized.</div><div><br></div><div>Please sign up for a siren for the Thursday evening test right away. We need to have the list finalized by noon on Thursday.</div><div><br></div><div>Even if you will not be reporting on a siren, please make the effort to check into both nets (morning & evening), if possible. The nets will be held on the 147.135 repeater. Thanks.</div><br clear="all"><div><div class="gmail_signature">________________________________________<br>Stephen M.
