Back in May, the NWS announced that the server they use to provide public access to the raw L3 radar data would be changing. This change was finally implemented about 2 weeks ago. If you've been using GRLevel3, you may have noticed that radar data no longer appears. A simple program update is all that's required to restore functionality.

The NWS changed the name of the server providing the data, requiring an update to all of the Gibson Ridge radar products. Here are the versions that support the change:

GRLevel3: 2.50 or greater (current 2.51) - Updater: http://www.grlevelx.com/downloads/grlevel3_2_update.exe

GR2Analyst: 2.50 or greater (current 2.50) - Updater: http://www.grlevelx.com/downloads/gr2analyst_2_update.exe

GREarth: 2.30 or greater (current 2.31) - Updater: http://www.grlevelx.com/downloads/grearth_update.exe

Even with an AllisonHouse subscription with an older version, not all features may work. It is advised for the best possible support experience, especially by others, you upgrade to the latest version. If you're already running 2.xx, upgrading is free. For everyone else, there is information on upgrade pricing at http://grlevelxusers.com/faq/

NOTE: This is NOT a ploy by Gibson Ridge to get you to upgrade, especially if you are still on 1.xx of the software. If you wish to blame anyone, blame the NWS for forcing the URL changes. GRLevel3 version 2.xx came out initially in 2012, and GR2Analyst version 2.xx came out in 2013.

________________________________________
Stephen M.
