The WRR is organized by the Wabash River Cycle Club.

From the WRCC web site: Celebrating 43 years of cycling along the Wabash River Corridor, the Wabash River Ride commences on August 28th, 2021 from 7 am to 5 pm. Routes of 33, 47, 67 or 101 miles wind through
Tippecanoe, Fountain and Warren counties. Along the routes are scenes rarely thought of when considering North-Central Indiana's landscape: views along the Wabash River and Big Pine Creek, iconic landmarks such as the Fountain County Church, Rob Roy Covered
Bridge, and historic Williamsport Bridge, and rolling hills around the river valleys.

This is a chance to support a worthy activity and a chance to play radio!

All area hams are invited to participate. We will be officially representing the Tippecanoe Amateur Emergency Services (TCARES). We will provide safety support and communications via amateur radio by operating SAG wagons
(support vehicles) and radio stations at SAG stops. The SAG wagons will patrol the bicycle routes as often as possible. Operations are different this year due to the pandemic: Only radio operators will be in SAG wagons. They will not be responsible for
repairs to bikes or riders but will have tools and first-aid kit for riders to use (as well as water). Routes and SAG stops are the same as the 2019 ride.

A minimum of 13 radio operators are needed for all shifts on the day of the ride. The assignments are:

1. SAG wagon drivers: We suggest you have a family member, friend, or fellow ham accompany you as navigator. It is important that all radio operators have been fully vaccinated.

2. SAG stop radio stations:

Each stop shall have at least one radio operator to relay information regarding rider traffic, calls for support supplies, and to report emergencies. The SAG stops are Fountain Church, Carbondale Tavern, Cicott Park, and at
Fort Ouiatenon (Home Base).

Network operations (Net Control and backup) are at the Fort.

Equipment required:

15 Watt or greater, 2 m mobile radio is required in the SAG wagons. Five watt HT radios do not have enough power for certain portions of the routes. At the SAG Stops, a dual-band antenna on a mast is recommended.

Shifts:

7:00-12:00 and 12:00-5:00. You are welcome to work the entire day if you are available
