This Week at Purdue Lutheran Ministry

The Week of April 6, 2008

 

WELCOME to PLM's weekly newsletter!  PLM's mission on the campus of Purdue
is to build a campus Christian community where people grow in faith,
encourage one another in their faith journey, and extend Christ’s love to
others.  PLM offices are located at 330 West Fowler Avenue, ½ block west
of OSLC.  Our Saviour Lutheran Church (OSLC) is located on the corner of
Fowler and Vine streets - one block east of the Knoy Hall of Technology.
Sunday evening worship for students is at 5:30pm and supper at 6:30pm at
OSLC.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

a      If this is your last semester at Purdue, we would like to recognize
you at our upcoming worship service on April 20th.  Please let us know if
you plan on attending evening worship on April 20th.  

a      A Soup Lunch is held at 330 every Wednesday around the lunch hour.
Come anytime between 11am and 2pm.

a      The next PLM Planning meeting is: Wednesday, April 16th, 5:30pm at
330.

a      Weekly Lunches for Grad Students in the Summer - not yet planned.
Let Pastor Steve know of your interest if you are planning to be around
this summer.

a      Habitat for Humanity Build -- If you might be around Purdue this
summer and are interested in working with Habitat for Humanity please go to

a      Now Hiring:  Peer Ministers for Next Year - If you are interested in
becoming a peer minister next year, please let Pastor Steve know at

a      Now Hiring:  Keyboardist for Next Year - If you are interested in
accompanying worship next year, please let Pastor Steve know at plm at plm.org

a      Compassion International receives our first Sunday of the month
offering.  We sponsor Christina Luka Sombi from United Republic of Tanzania.

a      Summer Internships are available at the ELCA Churchwide Organization
in Chicago.  These are paid positions.  See:

a    Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is sponsoring a state-wide blood
drive on Saturday, April 19, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity
Lutheran Church (1005 N. 21st Street, Lafayette).  Please register to
donate on the sign-up sheet which will be posted at each church.  All
donors will receive gifts from Thrivent.  Those registering by April 6 will
be eligible for a special Early Bird prize drawing, and first-time donors
are also entered in a special drawing.  

a      Faith, Family and Mental Illness Worship, Monday, May 12 from 6:30-
9:00pm at the Kathryn Weil Center.   To register, call the NAMI office at
