Hello,Purdue Amateur Radio Club is being asked to participate in the Purdue Army ROTC 2nd annual Norwegian Foot March.  We need 4-7 volunteers total to participate in working check-points for this 18.6 mile foot race that takes place in West Lafayette.  Ham volunteers will communicate positions of participants and any emergencies.  We will utilize the W9YB 70CM repeater so it is best if volunteers have portable 70cm capabilities, but mobile operation from a vehicle is possible at both locations. Doing this event is at the request of the TEMA and is a useful exercise in intermixing HAM and Public safety communications.  The event steps off at 0800 and is an 18.6 mile race where participants wear 25lb packs.  The event is closed at 1400, but expect to be finished earlier than that.  
All volunteers are asked to email me at rice56 at purdue.edu if they can attend.  Everyone should plan on reporting to the Purdue Armory at 0700 25MAR and from there, you will be sent to your checkpoints.  Please email with questions and thank you in advance.
